Rara Lake is the biggest lake of Nepal situated
in the Humla and Mugu districts. It lies at an altitude of 2990 m above sea
level. This is an unexplored beauty that lies in the far western region of
Nepal.The best time to visit this heavenly lake is during September/October
and April/May. Rara Lake is surrounded by Rara National Park. You can reach their by air ways from Kathmandu to Nepalgung and Nepalgung to Talcha airport and 2-3 hours of trekking. Rara Lake is ignored by most of the tourist due to lack of promotion of this beautiful place. It consists of a great view from lake and gives visitors a feeling that you are in another world. You can get tents if you wish to stay near lake side at night and enjoy the coolest environment of this beautiful lake. There are lodges too for your accommodation and food. Here are various other facilities like boating and exploring the dense forest and viewing scenario from the height. The water of this lake is fresh and it changes the color timely. Winter season is snowy time where you will get frozen lake rather than viewing the beautiful natural look of the place.
